A range of interesting talks on research highlights and Danish MRI history were presented at the DRCMR 30th year anniversary in May 2015. The center was inaugurated in 1985 after a donation from the eccentric travel tycoon Simon Spies had made it possible to acquire the first Danish MR scanner. Research and excellent clinical practise were focuses from day one, and has been ever since. By the end of 2014, the work had resulted in the publication of 887 peer reviewed articles, 9 doctorates in medical sciences and 66 PhDs, for example. The impact on healthcare and physiological  understanding is very significant, and is steadily increasing.

A tribute in Danish has been published in connection with the Anniversary.

The speakers of the day were the Hospital Director Torben Ø Petersen, the head of the center Prof. Hartwig R. Siebner, Prof. Freddy Stahlberg from Lund University Hospital, former head Prof. Olaf B. Paulson, Prof. Thomas Werge from Center of Biological Psychiatry, Prof. Ryuta Kawashima from Tohoku University, Prof. Leif Østergaard from Aarhus University and Prof. Nick Ramsey from Utrecht Medical Center. Also local senior researchers presented recent work and outlook, PhD Katrine Skak Madsen, PhD Oliver Hulme, PhD Tim Dyrby, PhD Anke Karabanov and PhD Esben Thade Petersen.
