The 2026 ISMRM Annual Meeting, the world's largest conference on MRI research, was held in May this year in Cape Town, South Africa.

DRCMR was well represented, with researchers presenting new work on diffusion MRI and brain microstructure.

Emma Thomson presented a study of diffusion MRI changes following selective neuronal ablation, while Miren Lur Barquin Torre presented work relating diffusion MRI-derived axon diameters to the underlying biological diameter distribution.

In addition, Mariam Andersson co-hosted the ISMRM Diffusion Study Group Business Meeting, marking the completion of her two-year term on the Executive Committee.
