Multi-disciplinary magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy research, performed by an international group of scientists and clinicians, is directed towards providing fundamental information on patho-physiological processes and the identification of factors that provide significant information on disease diagnosis and prognosis. See publication list. The centre is responsible for providing a clinical diagnostic MR radiological service and is based at the MR unit in Hvidovre Hospital. As part of the University of Copenhagen, the centre is also involved in education both via direct teaching and undergraduate and PhD programs.
The centre’s research activities are concentrated mainly on studies of brain diseases, such as stroke, dementia, epilepsy and multiple-sclerosis and has special expertise in the field of neuroradiology. The centre is also a partner in the Copenhagen Brain Research Centre, the Center for Integrated Molecular Brain Imaging and is active in the University of Copenhagen Body and Mind initiative. In addition, research is being performed on diseases of the lung, heart and joint and muscular system.
The magnetic resonance phenomenon and imaging methodology is described here. The page also contains links to selected educational material (course notes, slides, software).
Selected press appearances: DR:Nov03, DR1:Sep05, DR:Dec05.
