At the MMCE conference in Slovakia 2011, Lars Hanson gave an invited talk on the foundations of Magnetic Resonance. The interpretation and connection between classical and quantum descriptions were adressed. Good and bad ways of visualizing magnetic resonance were discussed.

A few words about the MMCE conference since it has a different focus compared to other NMR meetings: It is an important aim to challenge accepted views on technologies, concepts, findings and sometimes make participants understand something that they maybe thought they knew. The next "Magnetic Moments" occur in Austria 2013.
