On Monday 16 December 2017, Anouk Schrantee will give a talk entitled "Pharmacological MRI: validation and clinical application".

Anouk Schrantee is a postdoc at the Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine and the Spinoza Centre for Neuroimaging in Amsterdam, and she is investigating the effect of pharmacological interventions on functional brain activity.

"Pharmacological MRI is an MRI technique that measures the hemodynamic response to a psychotropic drug in order to non-invasively visualize neurochemical processes in the brain. In my research, I aim at characterizing the neurobiological origins underlying the phMRI response. Additionally, I apply phMRI in clinical studies. For example, I investigated the effects of methylphenidate used in the treatment of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) on the developing dopamine system."

The presentation will take place in the Conference Room in Pavilion 7.
