Main Research Interests:
In my PhD-project I am working with pharmacological functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) to investigate the role of the neurotransmitter serotonin in emotion processing, by challenging the serotonergic system with serotonin altering drugs while performing an emotional face gender-discrimination task

Other research interest(s):
I am generally interested in the function of the brain in relation to emotional processing and affective disorders,  as well as the neurological-psychological background for these.

Publications:
Hornboll et al. (2009): Acute blockade of 5HT2A receptors reduces orbitofrontal cortex response
to angry and fearful faces. Abstract for the Annual meeting of the
International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM). Poster #1625

Hornboll et al. (2009): Pharmacological blockade of 5-HT2A receptors reduces orbitofrontal
activation during processing of fearful and angry faces in healthy subjects. Abstract
for Annual Meeting of the Organization of Human Brain Mapping (OHBM). Poster #114 M-PM
