Research groups: Funtional activation/fMRI group Sensorimotor integration Group
Main research interest: Currently I am working on my project entitled: "The mechanisms of sensory and motor illusion", in which I would like to investigate the difference between actual and illusory sensory perception and movement perception. These are conditions where there is a discrepancy between how the subject actually is stimualted/moving and how the stimulation/movement is perceived. I primarily work with functional MRI and transcranial magnetic stimulation.
Other research interest(s): I am also interested in human consciousness and the question of free will in relation to voluntary movements. Furthermore I have strong interest in art and literature in relation to the underlying neural mechanism providing us with an experience of pleasure when watching works of art. Finally, I have a strong interest in connectivity of the brain and how it possible to experimentally study causal interaction in the brain.
