Introduction MRI is a multi-modal imaging device able to acquire structural images of the brain with different contrast, functional images during brain activation, perfusion images of blood flow in the brain, diffusion tensor imaging for analysing fiberpathways in the brain, and many other techniques. Each imaging technique has its virtues and limitations, and thus requires different considerations when combined and interpreted.
Objectives We aim to use multi-modal imaging in all studies at DRCMR, this must however be done appropriately and with care. We provide insigts into - Designing studies for optimal use of available modalities - Integrating data from every possible combination of modalities - Development and usage of methods for multivariate statistical analysis
